Popular Fishing Destinations

Considering planning a fishing vacation? Here are a few destinations to consider:
Florida is an excellent destination for sport fishing. With an extensive saltwater coast and Florida’s freshwater lakes—over 7,500 of them—you’ll find fine opportunities as well for black bass, panfish, crappie, white bass and striped bass, and catfish. And whether you choose to fish the Keys, Central Florida, or Lake Okeechobee, you’ll find all the fishing supplies you need close at hand. You don’t need to plan to travel alone; fishing destinations are also great for small corporate meetings, business entertaining, or even a relaxing vacation for people who don’t fish.
Canada is also a prime destination for anglers. Whether you’re after a trophy fish, or you just want to catch and release bass or salmon, Canada offers 70,000 bodies of fresh water. Lakes around Ontario, Canada offer some of the feistiest smallmouth bass. Several lakes offer largemouth bass as well. So pack up your waders along with your rods and reels—and don’t worry, you’ll find all the lures you need there. Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador coast offer pristine hunting and ice fishing. Gather up your outdoor gear and equipment for a memorable trip!
For some anglers, Alaska is heaven! Lodges will offer five to seven day trips, so that you can explore and fish the northern wilderness. Choose the time you travel carefully. From June to September, the Alagnak River offers some of Alaska’s best trout fishing. You’ll find specialty-fishing guides who are knowledgeable in every aspect of trout fishing: from dry flies to streamers, and top water mousing. Bead fishing has become very popular, as perhaps the most effective way to catch Alaska trout during the fall season when the salmon spawn.
